CBR eases temporary measure

Good news for driving test candidates: shorter wait after failing once!

As driving school we are happy with the change introduced by the CBR, so that you can now re-take your practical exam faster after failing it. Where previously you often had to wait a very long time, that has now been shortened to two weeks for most practical exams, such as car, moped, moped, motorbike licence and car with trailer. This is an opportunity for our students to drive off again quickly and address areas of improvement. For the motorbike vehicle control test (AVB), you may even ride again the very next day, meaning you lose no time in getting on with it!

What does this mean for you as a student?
As a driving school, we are thrilled that the waiting time has been reduced. This gives our students the chance to progress faster and get their driving licence without long waiting times. With us, you get the right guidance and we make sure you are well prepared for your re-exam, so you can work on your areas of improvement and pass next time. This means you won't have to wait unnecessarily long to show you're ready for the road.

What if my exam is cancelled?

If your test is cancelled because of road-hazard behaviour, you will have to wait longer before being allowed to retake it. The purpose of this is to give you enough time to improve your driving skills before you drive again.

• If you practical car test is aborted, you have to wait at least 15 weeks before you can retake the exam.
• For practical exams moped licence, moped driving licence, motorbike vehicle control, traffic participation and car with trailer the waiting time is at least six weeks.

As a driving school, we make sure you are well prepared to minimise the chances of a failed exam. We will help you with extra lessons and tips to improve your safety and skills, so that you can pass the exam with confidence and your car licence retrieves.

CBR continues to regularly evaluate the temporary measure and discuss it with the umbrella body for Driver Education and Traffic Safety (KRV). The first evaluation has already resulted in this adjustment and we expect the new waiting times to improve further in the coming period. CBR hopes this change will have a positive impact, allowing you to get your driving licence faster.

Yes, the scheme in which the waiting period after dropping down for the car driving test has been shortened is still in force.
